Adobe and alternatives

Information on Adobe Licenses for Higher Education and alternatives.

Information about Adobe licenses and the alternatives to Adobe products for the university.

There are no Creative Cloud purchase options available through the data center! Those who need the Creative Cloud must take care of the procurement themselves.
Until further notice, some Adobe products, such as Acrobat, can still be purchased through the university's software store as part of the CLP contract - however, only the older versions are available here in some cases. An overview of which products are available can be found here: https://ruf.asknet.de/cgi-bin/program/S1665.
An extension of the CLP contract has also been made in 2019. Rumor says that this will probably also end in the next two years, so that in the future it will probably no longer be possible to purchase licenses from Adobe.

We therefore recommend that you continue to use the purchase licenses from the CLP contract for the time being or switch to alternative products.

The list gives an overview about the classic Adobe products alternatives. It is only a selection and does not claim to be complete!

Notes:

- The Computing Center has purchased licenses for the Affinity products, which could be a good and affordable alternative for Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. More information can be found on our website.

- The Computing Center has purchased licenses for Foxit Phantom PDF, which is a good alternative to Adobe Acrobat. More information can be found on our website.
