Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 4 p.m. - HISinOne maintenance: The Campus Management System HISinOne (productive, demo and active test system) will be unavailable on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 4 p.m. for about 60 minutes due to the installation of some bug fixes.
bwLehrpool: pool room outages 14.03., 7:30-10:30: On Thursday, March 14, between 7:30 and 10:30, power will be shut down to test the emergency power supply. Although the bwLehrpool server will not be affected, outages are certainly to be expected in the pool rooms of the computer center.
bwLehrpool: Base system updated (Minilinux): The updated base system is in operation as of today. Apart from some bugs being fixed, a number of new features are now available. However, some of these will only work once the new version of the satellite server is here, which is close to being completed. Additionally, a new version fo the bwLehrpool suite will be available in the near future.
Separation of admin forum and discussions surrounding FDM: The admin forum has been increasingly used as a discussion platform by various IT representatives of the university, the computer center and others. Since that has worked well, there is now a larger amount of threads. To keep the focus here, the admin forum and discussions surrounding the topic of research data management have been separated.
Positive appraisal for Science Data Center "BioDATEN": The request for SDC BioDATEN, which was handed in together with various partners from Tubingen, Konstanz, Heidelberg and many others, has received a funding recommendation. The project is planned to start by the middle of the year and will run as part of the third eScience funding line by the department for science, research and culture in Baden-Wurttemberg. The project complements the efforts for virtualized research environments (ViCE), bwSFS and the bwHPC-S5 activites, with the objective of establishing long-term infrastructures for a qualified research data management in the field of bioinformatics.
Incomplete TSM status display in myAccount: Please note the following information on the "TSM-Backup" page in myAccount: Due to technical difficulties, only server names are currently being displayed. (Until completed migration of TSM server on Linux operating systems). These are scheduled to happen in the coming weeks. We would like to take this opportunity to mention our new email address "tsm@rz.uni-freiburg.de". Here, all questions surrounding error message and, suggestions regarding backup and archiving service can be posted.

Example of electronic door monitor (X86/monitor): In preparation for the booking display for the common PC pools at Werthmannstr. 4, an example of a electronic door monitor (based on net booting X86, Monitor) has been set up.
Extension of central storage system/file server: The IT Services extended the central storage system in the 6th week of 2019.
bwCloud downtime March 14, 2019: On March 14, 2019, there will be a day-long downtime due to emergency power testing at the computer center.
Microsoft Imagine not available anymore: Imagine Premium and Standard has been changed by Microsoft to "Azure Dev Tools" on February 11th 2019. Right now you can not purchase any software from the Webstore. You can only get the keys and files which you maybe have purchased before. We can´t say how to use the new program "Azure Dev Tools" because Microsoft did not inform anyone in Germany, how the change will impact the workflow.
LDAP server certificate running out and replacement required: The old LDAP server certificate is soon running out and therefore has to be replaced in the coming days. Please verify if the Telekom´s "Wurzelzertifikat T-Telesec Global Root Class 2" is installed and integrated.

bwLehrpool: pool rooms available again: The general testing of the electronic appliances in the computer pool rooms in the computer center have been completed.
OTRS maintenance work on 21.02.2019: On Thursday, February 21, 2019, some maintenance work will be done on the ticketing system OTRS. This will take place between 8.45 a.m. and 9.45 a.m.. OTRS will not be available during this time.

Microsoft Home Use Program - Redirection error: When accessing the Microsoft Home Use Program website, users are wrongfully being redirected to another website by Microsoft. This leads to the message, that the "company" is not authorized. Users should contact lizenzen@rz.uni-freiburg.de if registration is not possible.

File server/central storage system: NFS disruption: The are currently issues with the NFS service on our central file server (central storage system) since the switch to the new operating system version on January 11, 2019.
First admin meeting of 2019: On January 29, 2019, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., the first admin meeting of the year will take place. The venue will be room 112 of the computer center.

Current Windows 7 Update is impeding activation through KMS: A new Windows 7 system security update from January 8, 2019 can impede an activation through KMS.
09.01.2018: Old BSCW server offline: As previously planned, the University IT Services took the "bscw server" off the grid at the end of 2018. It had been in operation since 2004. Since 2017, the alternative "group server" ("Arbeitsgruppenserver"), which also runs on the basis of the BSCW system, is available.

bwLehrpool disruption due to router and data server maintenance: Since tomorrow, 20.12.2018, from 8:00 to 8:15 the central IT Services router will be converted, and additionally the file server will be updated from 8:00, disruptions to the bwLehrpool system should be expected.
