Office for Mac: Activation
Several reports from University employees ask for activation the office license for Mac. The problem seems to be related to the respective versions of Offices. No activation should be necessary for the Office program that forms part of the Baden-Württemberg license. If you are affected, follow the instructions below.
Download the new installation data for Office for Mac from the IT Services website.
The download list can be found here (Section Download and Activation: https://www.rz.uni-freiburg.de/en/services/procurement/software/microsoft/infos-en).
Login with your university account.
Uninstall the existing office installation.
Delete the following data:
~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office
~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.*
/Library/Application Support/Microsoft
New installation of Silverlight and new configuration of settings of Microsoft programs may be necessary afterwards.
In a next step, install the downloaded data: Office Installation and the Serializer.
After the installations, restart you Mac.
