University Governance for Research Data - Initiating a Discussion

The RDMG group is initiating the discussion on how to design a governance of research data at the University of Freiburg. We have circulated guiding questions to formulate the current state and needs at the Faculties, Clusters of Excellence and Collaborative Research Centers.

The goal is to collect input at all levels of the university - management, faculties, professorships, research projects - with which a governance system sustainable for all can be developed on the basis of the "Principles for Handling Research Data at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg". An intermediate step in the discussion is to clarify which guidelines or Code of Conducts apply at these levels. The basis for all considerations are the "Guidelines for Ensuring Good Scientific Practice" (DFG Code of Conduct).

The guiding questions can be found in the forum of the RDMG. (Attention: This deep-link will only resolve if a registration via https://www.rz.uni-freiburg.de/go/rdmg/ has taken place beforehand). The research data management at the University IT Services is located in the eScience group. Please feel free to contact us for further questions, advice, etc. by phone 4646 or fdm@mail.uni-freiburg.de (or also via the aforementioned forum).
