Caution: Phishing e-mails with reference to alleged wage/salary statement

Example of the current phishing email

Caution is currently advised with phishing e-mails that refer to a supposed salary/salary statement and thereby link to a fake website that has been copied from the myLogin website.

The e-mail addresses of the senders come from a domain "ufrgs.br" and an attempt is made to assign them to individual persons of the University of Freiburg, e.g. by "albert.ludwig@ufrgs.br".

The subject of the email typically says: "The Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg has sent you another important payroll for the year 2023" (variants are possible).

The short phishing e-mail contains a link to a fake myLogin website, e.g. under the domain "https://www.boundcode.com/i/uni-freiburg.de". You should not even click on this link and under no circumstances should you enter your access data there. If you do enter access data, please immediately send a message to security@uni-freiburg.de and change your password in the myAccount portal of the University of Freiburg.
