Meeting for subnetwork administrators

On July 11, 2017, the University IT Services is inviting all those that administrate subnetworks on campus or that are responsible for them. At this meeting the University IT Services will present services that help the University facilities and faculties with their IT activity.

The admin meeting will take place at Hörsaal Psychologie (Engelbergerstr. 41c HS).

Following topics will be discussed:

on campus communication between the IT Services and administrators
network topology - public vs. private network
services provided by the University IT Services (virus detection, storage systems, virtualization, infoblox, backup, country licenses Microsoft, Windows 10 and data privacy, procurement program bwPC, management of research data and research infrastructure)
patch management Windows
delegations of Active-Directory
IT security

Additional topics may be added.

To start off the event, Professor Schneider, as director of the University IT Services and CIO of the University, will hold a short presentation. There will be contact persons from various departments available for questions and final discussions afterwards.

The goal of the event is to intensify the communication between the University IT Services and the administrators of subnetworks and to better interlink the activity throughout the campus.

Interested parties can sign up via HISinOne. Further information is provided in an ILIAS course room, which one can access with a University account and which is still being set up. In this course room it will be possible to ask questions in advance and to fill out a questionnaire.
