First RDMG info event to research data management
On June 7, the first info event surrounding the topic research data management at the University Freiburg took place for some members of the SFB 1015 "Muße". The RDMG is currently a virtual organisation of the University library, the University IT Services and the FRS, which should push the topic on campus.
The event gave an overview of the challenges that research data management poses and how it can be pushed on campus. By creating a VO, the already existing activities will be bundled more strongly. For this, a OTRS queue has been installed: fdm (at) mail.uni-freiburg.de This provides researchers with one central point of contact which is managed by all three participating pillars. There will be more info events which will cover increasingly broader aspects (e.g. Data Management Plans, long-term acces to research data, functional aspects, bwSFS development).
