bwLehrpool as E-Assessment Platform at LERU Conference: The bwLehrpool system as an open PC pool and E-Assessment platform was presented at the LERU "Blended Conference November 2018 - Digital Higher Education Science" with two webinars as a joint-activity of the E-Learning and E-Science departments of the University IT Services.

Maintenance of the printing account recharge: Today at 2 p.m., the server for the printing account recharge will be unavailable for two hours.
bwLehrpool failure resolved: This morning, there was a total failure of the bwLehrpool system, which was resolved at 10:17 a.m. The trigger was a rogue service that repeatedly created gigabytes worth of logs and then disappeared. We have solved the problem and are taking measures to ensure that such mistakes to not occur in the future.

New wave of spam mail with fake job applications: There is currently a new wave of spam mail getting to various email accounts that look like job applications. They are sent under fake names such as Peter Reif - Peter Schnell - Caroline Schneider - Viktoria Henschel. These emails should be deleted immediately and attachments must NOT be opened.

Merging into one pool: -100 and -101 in basement floor: After a transition period during the summer, the pools in the IT Service building are being reorganized due to a change in demand (and a partially broken partition wall). Starting with the winter semester, there will be two rooms with 15 and 17 spaces, respectively, (-113 and -114) and one room with 30 work spaces (-100 and -101 combined) available for use.

Boot chemistry router on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 7.30 a.m.: Due to a urgently needed firmware upgrade, the router that operates in the chemistry building must be rebooted. During a 10 minute period Internet, WIFI and VoIP will all be unavailable.

New data management colleague in bwHPC-S5 (eScience department): The eScience department is gaining a new team member who will be working on the topic of data management (for Data Intensive Computing and HPC of the NEMO communities) for the state project bwHPC-S5. He will assist the activities involving design and acquisition of bwSFS.
OTRS maintenance work on 18.10.2018: On Thursday, October 18, 2018, there will be maintenance work done on the ticket system OTRS from 8.30 to 10 a.m.

(online) qualification for E-Learning: "learning e-learning": Qualification special for teachers, students and other persons interested for the use of digitial media in teaching at institutions of higher education.
myAccount service available again: Due to a technical malfunction, the myAccount service was unavailable for a short period of time. The problem has been solved and the service is back to running normally. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Reminder: Switching-off of BSCW server on December 31, 2018: At the end of the year, the University IT Services will switch off the old BSCW server. All users are asked to move their data to the new work group server.
Issues with accounts of registered doctoral candidates: The problem has been solved: Apparently, the responses were not registered correctly in the data sources from which we take the information, which led to accounts being blocked. We are working tirelessly on a solution so that your accounts are available as soon as possible.
Access to various services still not prossible from the clinic: Our colleagues at the University IT Services of the clinic will set up the new necessary connections throughout the day today.

Storage of the (old) bwCloud available again: The storage system of the old bwCloud ist back to running normally again. The data has been restored and synced. A manual restart of the VMs might be necessary.
Issues with the old bwCloud: Due to an error in the old storage backend, the old bwCloud is currently unavailable. The interruption does not affect the bwCloud Scope.
18.09.2018: Disturbance in the central infrastructure in KGII: There is currently a disturbance in the central infrastructure in the KGII which is affecting the availability of some central IT services of the University IT Services. We are working on an error analysis and will solve the problem as soon as possible.
