Wed. Mar. 1th, from 4 pm - HISinOne maintenance approx. 30 min.: The campus management system HISinOne (productive, demo, active test) is not available on Wednesday, March 1th from 4 pm for approx. 30 min. due to system maintenance.
Conducting a feasibility study on waste heat utilisation (RZ/institute area): As already written in the internal admin forum, the data centre is trying to achieve greater energy efficiency for IT operations. This includes the use of waste heat. Here, a feasibility study is being carried out, funded by the state's Ministry of the Environment, on the expanded use of waste heat from the data centre location in the institute area.
Digital exams: Limited use of the PC pools for individual learning: In these weeks, traditionally at the end of the semester, several large digital exams and e-exams are conducted in the computer centre and the PC pools in Werthmannstraße 4 with the help of bwLehrpool. For this purpose, the possibility of automated, time-controlled transfer of entire pool rooms into the specially secured examination mode is used. During this time, the use of the rooms for free practice is restricted.
myAccount is available again
myAccount malfunction: Due to a technical problem, the myAccount service is currently only available to a limited extent. We are working on a solution to the problem and apologise for the disruption.
27.02.2023: Announcement Change Central Firewall / Accessibility of Client Networks: In the course of IT security measures, the rules of the central firewall will be changed at the beginning of March with effects on client networks that were previously publicly accessible.
OnlyOffice in bwSync&Share does not work: After yesterday's maintenance, OnlyOffice, which is used to edit texts, tables etc. online in bwS&S, could not be made to work.

Wed. Feb. 15th, from 4 pm - HISinOne maintenance approx. 30 min.: The campus management system HISinOne (productive, demo, active test) is not available on Wednesday, February 15th from 4 pm for approx. 30 min. due to system maintenance.
First steps to rebuild the planned central helpdesk (task location RZ): Due to the retirement of a long-time staff member in the counselling service and strongly changing profiles in the use of the PC pool of the computer centre, some changes in the (student) counselling service have become necessary. Due to low demand at the computer centre, afternoon and evening counselling will be discontinued in favour of a stable service with additional tasks in the area of e-examinations and the bw teaching pool. User counselling is not affected by this.
Priority goal of RZ 2023: IT security: Irrespective of the search for a new head of the computer centre, which is currently underway, major activities will take place in the area of large IT projects, such as IDM, FIS, web presence and FDM. A central concern is the step-by-step measures to improve IT security. Activities on various levels, such as network segmentation, introduction of a DMZ or two-factor authentication are currently being tackled.
Emails with fake identity: Currently, there are emails on the way again that pretend to have a different identity.
Conversion of editorial accesses CMS: Areas of the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg website that can only be accessed after authentication must be accessed from the university network or via VPN.

BigBlueButton briefly disturbed: Since 10:45 there are problems with the BBB cluster. We are working on a solution to the problem. Part of the cluster should be available again shortly
