8 April 2026, 09:30: Beware of fake emails
#ufrstatus There are currently fake emails circulating with subject lines such as ‘Donation of a Yamaha baby grand piano for a loving home.!!!’ or similar.
These emails come from an email address that does not belong to the university (brandoni@...). However, the name of a member of staff from the Central Administration is included before the address, and her signature is also included at the bottom of the email.
The email itself, including the image attachments, does not appear to contain any malware.
It is likely to be a scam, as this piano certainly does not exist and you may be asked to make advance payments to the transport company. Alternatively, you may receive further emails of this kind in the future.
Please delete the email and do not reply.
