News about the bw computer labs project

Since 2013, the IT-Services cooperate with Offenburg and Reutlingen University in building a state-wide system for offering flexible computer labs. The bw computer lab project will be running until the end of 2014.

At the start of the winter term, we will therefore change to a new linux base system. This includes the following changes:

• new updated base system (Ubuntu 13.04)
• new booting concept of the base system (no changes for end users)
• new concept for virtual machines - for this the old windows models have been adapted
• coming soon: improved embedding of local printers and new printing concept in virtual machines
• coming soon: improved beamer configuration
